Beneficiary Distribution
The Black Tie Dinner is a celebration of and for those who do so much for the North Texas GLBT community.
Each year half of the net proceeds of Black Tie Dinner are distributed among the local beneficiaries
and the other half to our national beneficiary, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
There are two primary factors that define the distribution variance to local beneficiaries: 1) Guest
Designations and 2) Sponsor Table Affiliations.
Guest Designation
Each guest may DESIGNATE a portion of their Dinner ticket to benefit directly one or more of Black Tie's
local beneficiaries. This portion of the Dinner ticket is established by Black Tie Dinner and may be
increased or decreased each year. This amount is currently $100 per ticket and directly factors in the
distribution calculation for each local beneficiary.
Table Affiliation
Sponsor and Table Captain tables may be AFFILIATED with a single, local Beneficiary, helping that beneficiary
meet its requirements (see below). Additionally, for any AFFILIATED Sponsor table, 50% of the Sponsor's
cash contribution in excess of the table's regular ticket price (currently $3000) is directed to the
AFFILIATED local beneficiary during the distribution calculation.
The process for guests to DESIGNATE local beneficiaries and for Sponsors or Table Captains to AFFILIATE
their tables with a local Beneficiary takes place when Table Captains and Sponsors request their tables
and submit guest information via the online process.
Minimum Beneficiary Requirements
True to Black Tie’s Mission Statement, local beneficiary are required to fulfill partnership requirements
in the following primary ways; 1) have a minimum of five AFFILIATED tables at the Dinner, 2) sell a
minimum of 25 raffle tickets and 3) provide 50 volunteer hours toward the Dinner. Other requirements
and criteria apply, see Qualifications.
